Video from Brawl About PS5 at Walmart Surfaces Online

A sometimes unfortunate side effect of the holiday season is that people get aggressive when it comes to buying one of the most sought after gifts of the year. In 2020, that much-sought-after gift will be the PlayStation 5, and it seems that at a Walmart location in the United States, tensions between two customers ran so high that a brawl eventually broke out.

The video in question, shared on social media, sees two Walmart shoppers shouting at each other in the store first. After exchanging insults for a few moments, one of the two decides they want to escalate the situation further and proceeds to approach the other with flying fists. Soon the fight ends with the two on the ground, with one person standing out as the winner of the fight. While we don’t quite see what triggered the collision in the first place, reports state that a PS5 was central to the argument between the two.

Since we don’t have the full images of this situation, it’s important to stress that this fight may not have been about a PS5 at all. That said, given the location where this fight took place, namely in the electronics section of the store, it seems likely that Sony’s latest console was the point of contention that sparked this chain of events.

I do have to say that I hope one of these people seen in the video ended up walking away with a PS5 after all this was said and done. I mean, what’s the point of throwing someone’s hand over a video game console if you don’t actually get one at the end of the day? All we know about the story’s conclusion is that police later turned up at this Walmart location, but no arrests or citations were made as both fighters left the store before the police arrived.

All in all, this video is proof that the sooner we see PS5 consoles routinely stay on store shelves, the better. At this point, Sony still isn’t able to stock the next-gen console almost everywhere, but that’s sure to change as we get further into 2021.
