After countless delays and a lot of speculation, EA’s free-to-play battle royale Apex Legends finally arrived on Switch yesterday. Developed by Respawn Entertainment and ported by Panic Button, we’ve heard a few things before about the challenges of getting it across.
Panic Button has previously outlined the technical performance of the Switch port, which runs at 720p linked, 576p in handheld mode, both at a fixed 30 frames per second. But you may be wondering, how does that look compared to competing platforms?
Today GameXplain uploaded a side-by-side comparison comparing Apex Legends on Switch against a PS4 Pro through a series of clips. As expected, the Switch edition takes a noticeable visual hit, while retaining all the features and content from other versions.
Despite these trade-offs, Panic Button seems to have kept the gameplay here, and we’ll get you with our full thoughts in due course.
