A total of 14,062 male and female candidates have taken the MIR exams of this call, of which 10,803 candidates passed the test to access one of the 7,989 places offered; 477 more than in the 2020 edition. The supply for MIR residents has also increased in Euskadi, reaching 490 places, 8.17% more than in the previous edition. “We still need to analyze in detail the overall results of this call, not just the first positions; also how many of our students will be within the 57% of students who presented and who have access to a place,” Pineda pointed out. . And adds: “In the case of Medicine, we have used some exceptional data and these are very difficult to overcome”, since two editions ago there were 9 students in the top 50 MIR.

In addition to the specialisms Medicine and Nursing, In the call for Health Training this year, 7,529 candidates applied for one of 577 places offered in the rest of the specialties: BIR, FIR, QIR, RFIR. In concrete terms, 1,582 Pharmacy students have chosen one of the 267 FIR places; 4,333 in one of the 22 QIR sites and 217 in one of the 40 sites offered for Hospital Radiophysics.
