Tiger Woods has been transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles

Tiger Woods was transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after Tuesday’s single car crash in which he sustained serious leg injuries, according to a statement released Thursday

Dr. Anish Mahajan said Woods, 45, was relocated from Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, which is about 30 miles south of downtown Los Angeles, “for ongoing orthopedic care and recovery.”

Woods was transferred on Wednesday night, two sources told ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne. Cedars-Sinai is located approximately 21 miles north of Harbor-UCLA.

On Tuesday, Mahajan Woods said suffered multiple “open fractures” to his right lower leg and had a bar in his shin and screws and pins in his foot and ankle during emergency surgery.

Los Angeles County sheriff Alex Villanueva said on Wednesday his department would not press charges against Woods in relation to the crash near the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes, about 30 miles south of downtown Los Angeles.

Villanueva said the department considers it an accident, which could at most lead to a crime.

“He wasn’t drunk,” Villanueva said. “We can throw it out.”

Woods’ fellow golfers continued to comment on the crash on Thursday, including Phil Mickelson, who said players “understand and appreciate what he has done for the game of golf and for us and the PGA Tour.”

“We all hope and pray for a full and speedy recovery, but we are also grateful because that looked awful, and we are grateful that he is still with us,” said Mickelson of the Cologuard Classic, a Champions Tour- event in Tucson. .
