Two days after suffering serious leg injuries in a car accident, Tiger Woods was transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical in Los Angeles. He had received care at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, which issued a statement regarding Woods’ transfer.
“Mr. Tiger Woods was transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for continued orthopedic care and recovery,” said Dr. Anish Mahajan “To respect patient confidentiality, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center will not provide further information about patient care.”
Cedars-Sinai is located approximately 20 miles north of Harbor-UCLA.
Woods suffered multiple “crushed open fractures” on his right leg. His leg was stabilized with the help of a rod inserted into his shin, while screws and pins were inserted into his foot and ankle.
In an update released Wednesday, Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said the incident was “purely an accident” and that no criminal charges would be filed against Woods. There was no indication that Woods had been damaged at the time of the crash.
The crash occurred at around 7:12 a.m.PT on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes near Los Angeles. Woods was driving at high speed and lost control of the vehicle before crossing the center partition. His car rolled over several times and hit a curb and trees. Woods wore a seat belt and a crowbar and an ax were required to remove the car’s windshield.
