These school districts in the San Antonio area are closed on Friday due to wintry weather

SAN ANTONIO – Due to predicted winter conditions in San Antonio and surrounding areas, several school districts are announcing closure for Friday. On Thursday, the area saw a lot of rain and some ice as a result of the colder temperatures.

KSAT meteorologists also predict freezing temperatures and a likelihood of winter precipitation, starting late Sunday and early Monday.

Below are the schools that are closed on Fridays:

“Bandera ISD has monitored the weather conditions in the area. Given the forecast and in the best interest of student and staff safety, the school will be canceled on Friday, February 12, 2021. “

“Due to bad weather and the threat of icy road conditions, classes at Blanco ISD have been canceled for Friday, February 12, 2021.”

“Due to bad weather and predicted unsafe icy road conditions, there will be no school for personal or home students on Friday, February 12.

“Out of an abundance of caution for our students, staff and community, Friday February 12 will be a bad weather day for KISD. Monday February 15th is still a student holiday. It is a Staff Development Day and employees will report to their campus on Monday. On Tuesday, February 16, we will see students back at regular time. “

“Due to persistent rainfall and temperatures hovering around freezing, Leakey ISD will have a two-hour delay start on Friday 2/12/2021. Buses also run two hours later than normal. “
