Timely diagnosis will always save a life. Under this slogan, the Fundación Cardioinfantil and the Fundación Conciencia Social maintain their alliance to bring life expectancy to low-income children and adolescents with suspected heart disease.
For more than two decades, these foundations have worked together for the infants of our region, offering assessments, specialized examinations and processes such as catheterization or free heart surgery.
Last year, the pandemic made it necessary to stop running diagnostic brigades, which are essential in the lives of some minors. However, in 2021 they decided to continue their social work and from April 5 to 15, the Club de Leones de Barranquilla (Calle 66 No. 38-99) will conduct pediatric evaluations in children with suspected heart disease.
This consultation takes place by appointment. These phone lines or WhatsApp were enabled for the inscriptions: 3017910697– 3002482150; However, if it is not possible to schedule all patients on the specified dates, these lines will remain on to identify the most urgent cases.
The Fundación Cardioinfantil’s interdisciplinary team will evaluate the cases of prioritized minors, so that they receive comprehensive, timely and quality care (medical treatment -surgery or catheterization-, transfers, accommodation and meals in Bogotá) free of charge so that they can have a healthy heart. .
As for the children who are waiting for their check-up, because they have already received an intervention on their heart, they should contact each other to schedule a teleconsultation, a virtual appointment directly run by the social program’s medical team of the Fundación Cardioinfantil.
These consultations are permanently engaged, so that the care for the children is constant and on time.
