Bill Burr Mayfeld can play The Mandalorian, but he hasn’t had the nicest things to say in the past Star Wars. To be fair, Burr doesn’t have the nicest things to say about many things—That is kind of a trademark, given his main career appearance as a biting funny comedian. So the line between what he really feels and what he’s joking about is never clear.
That line that gets blurred with a hilarious effect in this new video through Morden Wex from YouTube. Here we see images from the most recent episode The Mandalorian, “The believer, “ in which Mayfeld talks to Mando and his crew. Her edited to record audio, we think, from an old episode of Burr’s weekly podcast. It’s beautiful.
Of course, it doesn’t matter whether Burr meant it or not when he said he wasn’t. This is a man known for his direct, sometimes brutal comedy, and when it’s rolling, it just keeps going. Either way, that ability to portray distain and indifference is exactly why Burr is so good The Mandalorian. He is a character disgusted by the galaxy, played by an actor disgusted by the galaxy.
Season two of The Mandalorian concludes tonight, probably without Mayfeld.
