Sixer’s big man Dwight Howard kicked out of the game against Lakers

The Philadelphia 76ers entered Staples Center on Thursday against the Los Angeles Lakers shorthanded. They didn’t have Joel Embiid still dating the bone fracture injury, and they also no longer had Tony Bradley or Vincent Poirier shipped in the George Hill trade.

That meant that veteran Dwight Howard was the one and only big man on the roster. The Sixers started Mike Scott in the middle in an effort to keep Howard in his regular role at the banking unit, but Howard hurt Philadelphia in this role a little early.

Howard got involved with Laker’s great man Montrezl Harrell all first quarter, and when the quarter was over, Howard bumped into Harrell and that was it. The 17-year-old veteran was hit by another technical foul and was kicked out of the basketball game.

With Howard gone, the only other real big man on the roster is now rookie Paul Reed who is just 6 feet tall. The Sixers also have Simmons standing at six feet, so Philadelphia will probably use it at some point in the middle of this game.
