The Professional Baseball League (Probeis) has announced the pre-selection of players who plan to participate in the practices prior to the Caribbean series, to choose the players who will represent Panama in the international tournament.
Among the players called up are six Dominican players who could put on the shirt of the Panamanian team for the commitment against the five champions of the other leagues participating in the Caribbean series. Panama was the only country in the group affected by the effects of the COVID-19 in the country, so they will face a unique challenge compared to other national teams.

The Dominicans who appear in the list of summons to the Panamanian preselection are the pitchers Johan Flande, Willy Paredes and Eury de la Rosa. They are guided by the player from the inner box Hector Gomez and the gardeners Alexander of Aza and Willy Garcia. All Dominicans on the shortlist have participated in the winter ball tournament organized by the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM).
Of the group, the most prominent pitcher is Johan Flande, who played eight seasons in Dominican baseball, along with Bulls of the East and Tigres del Licey, winning a championship with the first and two with the last, as well Alexander of Aza, who has 10 years of experience in Major leagues and in seven seasons LIDOM, winning the champion’s crown with the Bulls of the East.
Hector Gomez also has a long career in it LIDOM, played eleven seasons in the league, won championships with Bulls of the East and with Eastern Stars.
It is recalled that the tournament will be held between January 31 and February 6 with the participation of Mexico (hosts), Puerto Rico, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic, with Colombia and Panama returning as host countries.
