A new job opening for Rockstar Games has both Red Dead Online and GTA Online players on console, especially PC, enthusiastically. Cheating is a huge problem that plagues both GTA Online and Red Dead OnlineAnd so far, Rockstar Games hasn’t done much to fix this problem other than banning players in waves. However, it sounds like this is changing, which means that both online experiences are ahead Grand Theft Auto V. and Red Dead Redemption 2 should be much more fun soon.

On Twitter, Rockstar Intel writer VideoTech reports about a new Rockstar Games position for Associate Cheat Operations Analyst. Of course, the title itself suggests that this position will be aimed at fighting cheats and hackers, and the job posting text confirms this, noting that one of the responsibilities applicants should expect is finding paid cheats and submitting of reports pertaining to them.

“This role includes monitoring multiple sources of information to identify cheaters and online mods for our titles and take appropriate action based on that information,” read the “what we do” section of the job posting. “The team is a vital part of our efforts to protect the online gaming experience of our titles and deals with complex cheat-related issues on a daily basis.”

Of course, it remains to be seen whether this is part of a larger initiative to improve anti-cheat for both games. On paper this vacancy is promising, but without more context it is difficult to know whether it will have consequences.
