Rocket League Season 3 Patch Notes Revealed, Update Live

Rocket League Season 3 won’t be fully live and active in the hit video game until tomorrow, but prior to release, the major update itself will be available on the various platforms the game can be played on. A new car will be added when the Rocket Pass goes live, but before that, this update specifically adds a brand new trade-in system that should make it easier and more rewarding to get rid of unwanted inventory items.

Apart from this update is not of extreme importance. It comes with other new additions, new music, bug fixes, and more, but it doesn’t really change the game, nor will it really improve the overall experience of the game. That said, measured by the length of the patch notes, this is certainly one of the bigger updates in weeks.

Below you can check out the full patch notes of the update, courtesy of Psyonix:

CHANGES AND UPDATES

  • Trade-in update
    • Trade Ins are now managed in their own section in the Garage
    • All eligible items fall into three categories:
      • Core Series Articles
      • Tournament items
      • Blueprints
    • The trade-in menu shows you how many eligible trade-ins you have, sorted by category and rarity
    • Trade Ins still work the same way as before:
      • 5 Sometimes = 1 Rarely
      • 5 rare items = 1 very rare
      • 5 Very rare = 1 import
      • 5 entries = 1 exotic
      • 5 exotics = 1 black market
    • Tournament items and (revealed) blueprints can now be traded regardless of series. The tournament item or blueprint you receive from a trade-in is directly linked to the series of items you have traded in.
      • For example, if you trade in three Ignition Series Blueprints and two Ferocity Series Blueprints, you have a 60% chance of an Ignition Series Blueprint and a 40% chance of a Ferocity Series Blueprin
