Poirier vs. McGregor 3 ‘set for T-Mobile Arena with fans

The UFC will soon be home to a live audience.

The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas will host UFC 264, UFC President Dana White on July 10 announced on Wednesday. The event is open to the public and tickets are expected to go on sale this week.

UFC 264 is crowned by the highly anticipated trilogy between Dustin Poirier (27-6 MMA, 19-5 UFC) and Conor McGregor (22-5 MMA, 10-3 UFC). McGregor scored a first-round knockout of Poirier at UFC 178 in 2014, but Poirier took his revenge nearly six years later when he knocked out McGregor at UFC 257 last January.

Unlike their first fight, the lead-up to the rematch was rather amicable, with McGregor offering a generous donation to Poirier’s Good Fight Foundation. But according to Poirier, McGregor never got through the money, sparking a Twitter feud between the two this week.

The back-and-forth led to McGregor threatening to fight someone else instead, as countless lightweights like Rafael dos Anjos and Kevin Lee took the opportunity to throw their names in the hat. Maybe some game play by McGregor, but the promotion has been pushed forward with the announcement as the UFC will return to a live audience in Las Vegas this summer.

The UFC 264 lineup includes:

  • Dustin Poirier v Conor McGregor
  • Gilbert Burns to Stephen Thompson
  • Jessica Eye to Jennifer Maia
  • Ryan Hall vs. Ilia Topuria
  • Omari Akhmedov vs Brad Tavares
  • Jerome Rivera v Zhalgas Zhumagulov
  • Greg Hardy to Tai Tuivasa
