New Super Nintendo World Commercial Show Off Mario Kart Ride

With the calendar now turning to 2021, Super Nintendo World is officially scheduled to launch at Universal Studios in Japan this year. But before the park opens in a few months, Nintendo is now giving potential visitors a taste of what to expect from the venue in a new ad.

Spotted in a new commercial, Nintendo has teased a fresh take on the biggest attraction Super Nintendo World will seemingly be offering outside the gate. The ride revolves around Nintendo’s iconic racing franchise Mario Kart and allows park visitors to get into a real go-kart and zoom around a virtual race track. You can watch the new commercial mentioned via the tweet below.

Obviously, what is shown in this video is not what the actual Mario Kart ride itself will look like. If it did, that would be pretty trippy. However, the kart itself that appears in this video looks exactly like the one fans can jump on at Super Nintendo World, so there is it.

In addition to this Mario Kart ride, Super Nintendo World will provide a ton of other surprises that longtime Nintendo fans are sure to get a kick out of. Not only is the entire park filled with beloved Mario iconography, but those who visit can also earn virtual gold coins, participate in various activities, and eat food that reflects what you might find in the Mushroom Kingdom. All in all, it looks like it’s going to be fun.

Super Nintendo World is scheduled to finally open in Universal Studios Japan later this year, on February 4, 2021. While this will be the world’s first location, the same experience is planned to come to Universal parks in the United States further afield. .
