Monolith Soft made a little thank you video to celebrate Pyra and Mythra arriving in Smash Ultimate

This pair is absolutely polarizing

It’s hard for me to believe that Monolith Soft even still exists, but I’m glad it is.

It kicked off in 2002 with Xenosaga, the studio almost felt like a fever dream, but since then they expanded into several other franchises, mainly making a name for themselves with Xenoblade Chronicles

That game, which saw almost no life outside Japan, grew into a full franchise; almost like Xenosaga 2.0. I don’t think they knew how big it was going to be, with a sequel, an expansion, a remaster with new story content and now a Smash Ultimate appearance.

They’re celebrating that latest milestone this week, when the studio showed a new thank you video featuring Pyra and Mythra, from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 fame. It’s a short little clip that the duo accepts Smash invitations, with Pyra stating “I’m in Super Smash BrosToday I hope you support me, “and Mythra exclaimed,” I’m definitely not going to lose. “

She hopes we support her? Well, as an anime-style character and a sword user, she needs that hope!
