Mass Effect Legendary Edition skips Pinnacle Station DLC

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition PS5 PS4

Mass Effect Legendary Edition will include more than 40 pieces of DLC when it releases on PlayStation 4 in May, but the Pinnacle Station expansion for the first item won’t be part of the long list. That’s because the Demiurge Studios support team was the one who put it together during the PlayStation 3 generation, and the data that BioWare received upon request for the remastered collection was almost completely corrupt. The RPG developer says he really wanted to include Pinnacle Station in his plans for the full Mass Effect remaster, but things got out of hand.

In an interview with Game Informer, game director Mac Walters discussed the predicament. He says that since the original code was no longer accessible, the team had to completely recreate the DLC to be included. “It would actually take us another six months to do this with most of the team we have. I wish we could do it. Honestly, just because this has to be all the team has ever made, brought back together – all content for one player. And so, leaving everything on the cutting room floor was heartbreaking. “

Pinnacle Station was essentially a combat arena on a top-secret Alliance space station made up of 13 different challenges. With approximately three hours of gameplay, there was no content related to the story. You would instead unlock powerful weapons for use in the main game.

So it’s clear that BioWare did its best to include Pinnacle Station in its plans, but delaying the project by six months just wasn’t feasible. Still, there are over 100 hours of content to enjoy as part of the Mass Effect Legendary Edition, so this isn’t the end of the world. The remastered collection includes gameplay upgrades including “improved aim and weapon balance, sound effects, better Mako controls, input / controls, squad behavior, cover behavior and gameplay cameras” in addition to 60 frames per second on PlayStation 5 and PS4 Pro. Loading times will also be much shorter and with an extensive character builder you can tailor Shepard to your individual needs.
