British singer Liam Payne has discussed a controversial part of a One Direction music video featuring the character of infamous Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein.
One of the band’s most watched music videos of the track, Best song ever, band member Niall Horan played the character’s convicted rapist and producer.
Speaking of the track released in 2013, Payne admitted that he regrets adding the character Weinstein.
During his Instagram Live with the director of the video, Ben Winston, it was confirmed that the character was indeed from the fallen Hollywood bigshot.
Winston said, “We can’t make that video these days. We have a character based on Harvey Weinstein. Listen, he was just a famous man. “
‘I know, I often think about that. Jesus Christ, ”added Payne.
For the inexperienced, Harvey Weinstein was found guilty of a number of sex crimes last February. He is currently serving his 23-year sentence at the Wende Correctional Facility in Alden, New York.
