Legendary edition somehow made Garrus hotter

The Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a month away. Today BioWare released a new video and developer blog describing the process by which the Mass effect trilogy. By weeding all the technical information, I’ve come to an important conclusion: somehow, BioWare made Garrus Vakarian hotter.

By methodically updating over 30,000 unique textures, adding dynamic lighting, and upgrading the appearance of characters’ skin, hair, and eyes, BioWare has managed to enhance Garrus Vakarian’s perfection. According to the blog, the visual enhancements were intended to make the games look more consistent across the trilogy, but the developers also wanted to make sure that the three games and their characters felt visually different.

“For characters who appeared in all three games, such as Liara, Garrus, Kaiden, Captain Anderson and more, we made minor changes throughout the trilogy as they got older, more mature, or … blog. .

The result is a Garrus that looks sexier than we’ve ever seen him. The enhancements make his skin look rougher and weirder, which adds to his appeal. Even his rocket scars got an upgrade, the jagged bits of his armor and face gave him this dangerous look as a sexy, mandibled bird of prey.

In addition to upgrading everyone’s favorite turian, the developers have also “completely re-rendered the pre-rendered cutscenes in 4K”. Cutscenes were also tweaked to fix any glitches, except for one: “Movie designers have fixed dozens if not hundreds of bugs that appeared in live-action cutscenes and conversations. But do not worry; the ‘What did you just say?’ head turning meme still exists if you know how to search for it. “

Uhh … think you’re Dr. Chakwas needs to talk about that commander.

Of the three games, the original Mass effect needed most of the attention. Some of the changes made go beyond simple graphics upgrades and focus on making them Mass effect better reflects what developers had in mind when they initially designed the game.

Feros has a few very visually different sections, including the colony and highway that leads to the ExoGeni Corporation building, the aqueducts, and the Thorian cave. The first of these now has stronger smoke and fire effects, more buildings to fill the skybox, and a lot more damage and debris to better showcase the geth’s attack. “

Are those ... braids? Oh my God! Real braids!

Of all improvements, the Legendary edition I’m perhaps most excited about changes to the character creator, with the developers saying, “The custom character creator is unified and vastly expanded, and some of your favorite casual outfits from Mass Effect 3 are now available in Mass Effect 2, also.”

In the original trilogy, the character creator was missing a lot of different options, such as deeper skin tones and hairstyles, which I’m glad to see BioWare is finally addressing. After all, I need my Commander Shepard to look her best when it comes time to test the range and flexibility of my boo Garrus.
