Leaders report 3,002 new COVID-19 cases, no new deaths

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District reported 133,519 total COVID-19 cases and 1,648 total deaths in Bexar County, up from 3,002 new cases as of Sunday. No new deaths have been reported today.

The total number of cases includes 70 overdue electronic lab reports, and the death toll includes 55 deaths, ranging from Nov. 26 to Dec. 24, according to health officials.

City officials also reported that 1,407 patients have been hospitalized, 395 in intensive care and 229 on ventilators.

12% of the manned beds and 49% of the fans are available.

Enrollment for two of the COVID-19 vaccine sites in San Antonio is filled for this week. However, there is still a site on the south side that accepts eligible residents. Read more here.
