Leaders report 1,282 new COVID-19 cases, 2 new deaths

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District reported 112,218 total COVID-19 cases and 1,510 total deaths in Bexar County, an increase of 1,282 new cases as of Sunday. Two new deaths have been reported today.

According to health officials, the total number of cases includes 999 overdue cases. The death toll includes 29 overdue deaths, ranging from Aug. 20 to Dec. 23. 314 deaths have also been reported in municipal settings.

City officials also reported that 1,000 patients have been hospitalized, 299 in intensive care, and 159 on ventilator.

17% of the staffed beds are available and 57% of the fans.
