Juan Oscar Morales points out that Eva Prados’ lawsuit is a “tantrum”

Juan Oscar Morales, San Juan’s District 3 representative for the New Progressive Party (PNP), classified the lawsuit filed by his opponent from the Movimiento Victoria Ciudadana (MVC), which is demanding a new election over alleged irregularities in the early voting process of the race.

“It seems to me another tantrum from Ms Prados and Manuel Natal, who for lack of votes resort to turmoil, in the absence of a constitutional mandate from the people to resort to these kinds of demands, which is a groundless claim expressed in an interview with Radio Isla 1320.

Morales pointed out that the Prados lawsuit claims that some voters from a home in Río Piedras did not have the right to vote there. However, the representative indicates that there is an old people’s home in this house and that these citizens do have the right to demand early votes. Likewise, the novoprogresista ensures that Prados does not provide any evidence of fraud in the legal proceedings.

“There is no evidence in that lawsuit that there was any fraud, on the contrary, I believe the fraud is committed by Mrs. Prados,” added Juan Oscar Morales.

Yesterday, attorney Eva Prados Rodríguez, candidate of the Citizen Victory Movement to represent San Juan’s Representative District 3, today filed a petition to challenge the results of the State Elections Commission (CEE), calling the Juan Oscar Morales winner of the election.

The petition, which has been submitted to both the Court of First Instance and the House of Representatives in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the 2020 Elections Act, calls for a new election to be held because it is impossible to hold a new election. generate reliable and accurate results.

“In our petition, we present eight (8) causes of contestation of the legality, reliability and certainty of the reported votes for the early and absentee voting modalities. If this succeeds, the challenges would change the results of the general election in representative district 3, ”said Prados Rodríguez.

Related note:

On the one hand, the lawsuit disputes the validity and legality of more than 200 legislative ballots for alleged findings of fraud prima faciebecause it causes them to not match the number of validly registered voters or be cast in violation of the early voting laws and regulations of that representative district.
