Jon Stewart, former host of the “Daily Show,” just joined Twitter – screen name: @jon_actual; followers: 845,800 and counting, fast – and already setting controversial ground, setting low expectations, and suggesting he’s headed for president.

Stewart’s second tweet promised his social media platform presence would be sporadic and ineffective, and his third, nodding to the shot his first tweets had reached, concluded that it’s time he started measuring for Oval Office curtains.

Stewart ended his 16-year career at Comedy Central’s anchor desk in 2015 and has since advocated for 9/11 first responders and their families, as well as military veterans and inked film and TV production deals with the likes of HBO and then Apple. AAPL,
-3.74%.

And with that, Stewart has exceeded 855,000 Twitter TWTR,
-2.02%
followers.
