Fortnite could get major map change according to Epic Games Leak

It looks like Epic Games has a big change in store Fortnite in the pipeline, as a recent leak has suggested that something big is happening with the Colosseum’s location. The game has not received major updates in recent weeks due to the holiday season, but adjustments are being made regularly Fortnite should start now that we are a week into 2021. That could mean a major map change, meaning there could be a special event in the works as Epic Games has plans for the upcoming Season 6.

As for the leak, it emerges the way Fortnite leaker and data miner, “Mang0e”, who recently took to Twitter to reveal that a new variant has been added for the Colosseum in a recent update that is not currently in game. More specifically, they discovered files and resources suggesting the Colosseum is about to be filled with water.

This could indicate a larger event with some type of flood, or it could be a more isolated change. As the data miner points out, the Romans occasionally filled the Colosseum with water for massive naval battles. And as you can see in the leaked image below, there is a ship, plus plenty of docks where players can stand.

Now take everything here with a grain of salt. Not only is nothing official here, but data mining leaks can be misleading, and of course everything is always subject to changes in video game development. With Fortnite we specifically saw that Epic Games adds a lot to the game’s files that never make it into the actual game itself.

Speaking of Epic Games, at the time of publication it has not commented on this leak in any capacity, and it is very, very unlikely that this will change, but if it does, you can read it here.
