If you want to play Final Fantasy VII in HD on your PC u could wait for the remake to be ported, or you could play the original game with this mod that uses artificial intelligence to scale up its visuals.
Although I’ve written about these types of witchcraft attempts before:even with this game!– this latest work by Satsuki Yatoshi uses ‘deep learning techniques’ to transform the game’s low-resolution pixels and polygons into a look that a lot of sharper, and is a big improvement over older efforts, mainly because this is much easier to install and underway.
“The main goal of the SYW mod is to get as much detail as possible without having an overly sharp and overclean effect,” says the mod’s YouTube page, “also to keep the rendering as natural as possible and consistent in quality throughout the game. “
So basically it goes in HD without going to HD, to the point where everything looks a bit too clean and weird and dirty.
