Epic Games Store only offers popular survival games for free today

Hot after making Night in the woods free for a single day, the Epic Games Store has now revealed its next title available for download on PC right now. Today’s offering is one that survival fans will particularly want to consider, assuming they don’t own the game yet.

Deeply stranded is today’s latest free title on the Epic Games Store and can be added to your own library for free until tomorrow, December 29 at 11:00 am EDT. In the game, players take control of a plane crash survivor stranded in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. You have to craft items, upgrade your character and fight animals to survive. In fact, it is something like Cast away the video game.

It’s unique to Deeply stranded compared to some of the previous games that the Epic Games Store offers is that it is still in early access. Despite first becoming available in 2015, Deeply stranded still hasn’t reached its iteration 1.0 yet. Although there was a formal release on consoles earlier in 2020, this PC version is still being worked on in real time. This means that if you play it now, you can help provide feedback to the developers on what they can improve in the future.

While Deeply stranded is the most recent game the Epic Games Store is handing out for free, it won’t be the last. This daily promotion will run through December 31st, meaning there are three titles left to hand out. If you’re curious about what those other three games will be, check out this leak from last week that seemingly revealed the full list of free titles ahead of time.

Of course, as time goes on, we will keep updating you on all the happenings with the Epic Game Store. If you would like to continue to follow our window coverage, you can do so here.
