Epic Games Store makes beloved Indie game free for a short time

It’s not the end of 2020 yet, which means the Epic Games Store will still be handing out a free game every day until the end of the year. In the case of today’s free title, it just happens to be one of the most popular indie releases in recent years.

Night in the woods is today’s free game on the Epic Games Store for those who want to try it on PC. The title was first released in 2017 and was incredibly well received by critics when it arrived. Since then, it has slowly continued to gather a cult following. Night in the woods is primarily an adventure game that tells the story of a handful of quirky animal characters, but it’s also often praised for its soundtrack and colorful world.

Obviously, the catch with this free release, like everything else Epic is doing in the next few days, is that you don’t have to choose long Night in the woods up. If you want to add the game to your own library, you’ll need to trade by 11:00 am EDT tomorrow. After this time, the game will still be available in the store, but you will need to buy it as you normally would.

Once Night in the woods is no longer free, but another game will take its place. While Epic Games hasn’t said what will be free tomorrow, we have a pretty good idea of what to expect. The full list of titles coming to EGS was leaked last week and so far it has not been proven to be false.

Of course, we’ll keep letting you know which games are free on the platform here at ComicBook.com in the coming days. If you’d like to keep following all of our coverage of the Epic Games Store, you can do so by visiting this page.
