Disney World is updating dining facial mask policies

ORLANDO, Fla. – Disney World has made a new update to its face masks policy, making it clearer when visitors can remove face masks at food outlets.

  • Update clarifies dining rules
  • Visitors must wear face masks while “standing, waiting, or sitting” at eating locations

The updated policy now specifies that food venue visitors must wear their face mask while ‘standing, waiting or sitting’.

“Face cover for each guest aged 2 and older, which must be worn in all public areas and can only be removed while actively eating or drinking,” the policy on the Disney World website says. “Face coverings should be worn while standing, waiting or sitting in eating areas.”

Previously, the face mask policy for eateries was not that specific.

“Facial covers for every guest aged 2 and up, which must be worn in all public areas – including when entering and exiting dining venues – and which can be removed while eating or drinking,” read the previous policy.

Disney World has updated its face mask policy several times since it reopened from its pandemic-related shutdown last summer. A notable change was when Disney specified that visitors must keep their face masks on unless they “actively ate while standing still” at the parks and Disney Springs.

Last month, the face mask policy was updated to say that even visitors who have received the COVID-19 vaccine should still wear a face mask.
