Cyberpunk 2077 developers may face even more problems, according to a new report

It’s been exactly a month Cyberpunk 2077 finally in stores, but it has certainly been a slow one for the CD Projekt Red team. After its release in a gloomy state on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, the development studio has worked tirelessly to improve the quality of the game in the short term. And now it sounds like members of CDPR may be under even more pressure to make sure the game reaches a better state in the near future.

According to a new report from the Polish publication Benchmark, the Polish Competition and Consumer Protection Agency (UOKIK for short) is now taking interest in CD Projekt Red and is following the situation with Cyberpunk 2077 pretty. As the entity’s name suggests, the UOKIK serves the general public in Poland to ensure that the interests of consumers are served. While the UOKIK has not yet taken action, it could happen in the future.

For now, the agency is ensuring that CD Projekt Red lives up to the promises it has made regarding the future of Cyberpunk 2077. In recent weeks, the studio said it would add new updates to the game over the next two months to improve the game’s console iterations. However, if this doesn’t happen as intended, UOKIK could switch to CD Projekt Red.

It’s important to note that no fines have yet been handed out by the UOKIK and chances are they never will. That said, if the office believes that CD Projekt Red was somehow unfair to consumers and that the promised corrections are not sufficient to satisfy customer complaints, it would fine the studio up to 10% of his annual income. Again, there’s a decent chance this won’t be out, but it could depend on CD Projekt Red’s actions in the coming weeks and months.

The biggest downside to this whole situation is that it will only put more stress on the developers at CDPR, who are certainly annoyed as it is. All in all, this situation was frustrating to watch in many ways, but hopefully Cyberpunk 2077’s the quality will keep improving as we go further. If you would like to continue to follow our reporting during that time, you can do so here.
