Kyrie Irving returned after a two-week hiatus to score 37 runs in the Brooklyn Nets’ 147-135 double overtime loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Irving played 48 minutes and scored 15 of the 28 field goals. At the end of the game on 37 points, he added two rebounds and three assists.
Before the game, trainer Steve Nash declined to say how many minutes he intended to let the point guard play, but said he will have a “mindfulness approach” to Irving’s playing time.
Kevin Durant finished with 38 points, 8 assists and 12 boards, while James Harden ended the evening with a triple-double of 21 points, 12 assists and 10 boards.
During the timeout for personal reasons, the Liga Irving fined Irving for violating health and safety protocols and attending what appeared to be a family party. He also lost more than $ 800,000 in salary for the two games he missed in quarantine.
Irving averaged 27.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists in seven games this season.
