One of the biggest questions about video games in 2021 revolves around Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 and its prospects to release within the calendar year. Well, according to a potential Nintendo insider, it sounds like fans should expect to get their hands on the game before the year is out.
In a new tweet from a Brazilian streamer who had some firsts in the past regarding Nintendo, it was teased that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 will indeed be released this year. This information was teased in a post translated to “Happy 2021”, alongside images of four Nintendo franchises that the insider seems to believe we’ll see this year. One of these photos was from Breath of the Wild 2 which seems to be a clear hint of the game’s potential launch window.

Obviously, this information contains the main caveat that we have no idea if it will turn out to be true. It is unclear whether the insider has specific knowledge of Nintendo’s release plans for Breath of the Wild 2 or if instead this is just their own estimate of what could be released in 2021. So with that in mind, take this whole situation with a pretty big grain of salt.
What we know for sure The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 right now that’s, well, it’s in development – that’s about it. Nintendo hasn’t said anything about the highly anticipated sequel since it was first revealed at E3 2019. All of 2020 came and went without Nintendo giving us any new details about the game, which is a bit of a shame. So although that doesn’t seem out of the question BOTW 2 release this year, we still have a lot to learn about it.
