Just as this Saturday would start with the Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl, this is being reported Brett McMurphy that the bowl was canceled after SMU had to withdraw from the game against UTSA.

This is what else is happening. 1) Jump a few bowls with the gun and get teams now to make sure they’re ready to get the logistics in place, and 2) contracted bowl tie-ins mean a fat load of jack squat.

These can and will change dramatically over the next week before all are officially announced on Sunday. Georgia Tech, Virginia, Pitt, Boston College and Stanford have already opted out of bowl bids, and more are sure to come.
