Best Buy’s big new PS5 addition is dropping better than expected

Getting a PlayStation 5 has been a miserable activity for many people around the world for the past few months, but it seems like it’s finally starting to get a little easier to get your hands on Sony’s next generation console. If today’s latest replenishment at Best Buy is any indication, the weeks and months ahead could bring more smiles than sadness.

Best Buy put a ton of new PS5 units up for sale today, and based on some customer responses on social media, the process went much better than ever before. While not everyone has been able to drive the PS5 for themselves today, the number of success stories appears to be much greater than usual.

Part of the reason this could be the case is because Best Buy has released multiple waves of PS5 consoles today. Although the first wave went live earlier this morning, the units continued to be back in stock well into the afternoon. Those who remained consistent in their efforts to take up the system were seemingly rewarded as long as they stick things out long enough.

Another reason things seemed much more successful today is because Best Buy started limiting orders to certain regions and stores. Of course, this meant that some potential customers couldn’t get PS5 on their side if their local store didn’t have stock, but as a whole, the retail chain seems to be consolidating its in-store offering a bit more. . Maybe this means we’ll see the PlayStation 5 hit shelves soon.

Have you been able to get yourself a PS5 yet? And have you tried to get the console at Best Buy today? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter at @MooreMeer

Be sure to read on if you want to see responses from those who also hunted on the PS5 today!
