The Maritime Action Vessel (BAM) Furor from Armada participated in the multinational exercise this week Obangame Express 21, some maneuvers organized by the United States in the Gulf of Guinea, through his Operational Command in Africa (Africom), and in which a total of thirty-three countries participated.

This BAM carries out the mission African deployment, integrated into the Maritime Operational Command (MOM), under operational control of the Operations Command (MOPS)“This operation makes it possible to improve knowledge of the maritime environment on the West African coast and the Gulf of Guinea and to conduct security and defense diplomacy cooperative activities with the riparian states,” Emad recalls.

The Furor went out to sea from the port of Tema, Ghana, on March 19, following the opening ceremony and the first coordination meeting prior to the maneuvers. For five days, the Spanish vessel has collaborated with the coastal states of the Gulf of Guinea, including Ghana, Ivory Coast and Liberia, in exercises related to the Maritime security (Segmar).

As Emad explains, he has been working on what is mentioned Regional maritime training, which aims to “support and help increase Segmar’s capabilities and improve its coordination and cooperation procedures within the framework of the regional architecture established following the 2013 Yaoundé process”.
