IHS Markit
publishes both Indices of the Purchasing Managers Production and Services for April. The Census Bureau will also report sales of new single-family homes in March.
Finally, the European Central Bank will announce its latest monetary policy decision in Frankfurt on Thursday. The consensus expectation is that policymakers will keep the reference rate unchanged at half a point below zero.

The National Association van Realtors reports existing homes sales for March. The consensus estimate is for a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 6.3 million homes sold, slightly higher than the 6.2 million in February. Existing home sales are slightly lower than last October’s recent peak, but stronger than ever since the housing bubble burst almost 15 years ago.
The Conference Board publishes its Leading Economic Index for March. Economists predict an increase of 0.6% month-on-month, after an increase of 0.2% in February. The Conference Board’s most recent forecast forecasts growth of 5.5% in gross domestic product this year.

IHS Markit releases both its Manufacturing and Services Purchasing Managers’ Index for April. The expectation is for a reading of 60.3 for the Manufacturing PMI and a reading of 60.5 for the Services PMI. Both estimates would be the highest level in three years for their respective indexes.
The Census Bureau reports sale of new single-family homes for March. The consensus estimate is for a seasonally adjusted annual percentage of 831,000 homes sold, up from the figure of 775,000 in February. Then the median sale price of a new home was $ 349,400, just short of its all-time high of $ 356,600 in December.
