Amanda Kloots shares candid New Year’s message after losing husband Nick Cordero to COVID-19

Amanda Kloots once again becomes candid and deeply personal with her followers. The TV personality reflected on the start of the new year with an emotional post about her troubled holiday season after the death of her husband, Nick Cordero, because of COVID-19 in July.

“New Year’s Eve was tough, extremely difficult for me. I’ve been crying more recently than in a while,” Kloots wrote in a post she posted to her Instagram story on Saturday. “I thought Christmas was going to be difficult, this was worse.”

“I think it’s because when the new year comes, you want a clean slate or want to forget about last year, especially in 2020. But I can’t forget last year and won’t be able to wipe that slate clean,” Kloots continued. “I also think I’m a little bit scared of what could happen in a year, how many things could change.”

Kloots also shared that she feels “everything I’ve been through is finally catching up for me and I’m finally ready to go to therapy to deal with the trauma.”

Kloots and Cordero were married in September 2017 and welcomed their son, Elvis, in June 2019. Cordero was hospitalized in April with COVID-19 and after a three-month roller coaster of surgery and medical setbacks, the Broadway actor died in July. 5.

Kloots continued her emotional message, writing, “I share all of this as my continued honesty about grief and loss. How it fades and flows changes a lot. How it hides and then finds you. How it’s a journey, not just a week. How it keeps struggling, even if I stay positive and active. How you can cry for two seconds or two hours some days. How you feel so lonely and confused. “

‘Being honest, acknowledging all of this instead of hiding it, has helped me. I hope it helps you, ”she concluded.
