A Final Fantasy XIV anime short? Yes, I will bite … hard

It’s my hometown FFXIV … in anime form

Square Enix just can’t help itself when it comes to customization Final Fantasy games in anime. It’s actually quite amazing that there are additional things to discover (especially with the FFXV shorts, which were arguably more coherent than several in-game bows), but this time it’s a little more volatile.

Shared through the Final Fantasy XIV Korea YouTube channel, the video starts with a character of a player waking up in Limsa Lominsa, a radiant seaside town (also my hometown) and one of the main hubs of An empire rebornIt all looks amazingly authentic, right down to the Aetheryte, the character styles, and the random Bard street performance. As a reminder, FFXIV has had anime ads before, dating back to 2019.

As for this recent one below, there are a ton of great photos here, most of which can be replicated in the actual game, from crafting to random training in the wild with your chocobo companion. I can’t wait to see how great this all will look (and feel frame-rate-wise) on PS5.
