Rumors have it that Nintendo is releasing a new Switch with 4K capabilities some people wondered what the company’s current generation of games might look like on improved systems.
While it seems unlikely that ray tracing will appear on Nintendo platforms anytime soon, a YouTube channel known as Digital Dreams has gone so far as to include The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild runs at 8K with ray tracing enabled, enhanced lighting and more.
You can see Korok Forest in all its glory, known as one of the most intensive areas on the Switch, in the entire game.
Even if you can’t see this in its true state, it’s easy to see how phenomenal it looks. There are some environmental details that you may not have even noticed before. It also got us thinking about what future generations of Nintendo games might look like in the years to come. The downside to all of this is that the game runs on emulation software.
