Here’s how to register for the COVID-19 vaccine in San Antonio

The city of San Antonio will be handing out thousands of additional doses of COVID-19 vaccines, both Moderna and Pfizer, to eligible residents this week.

Three vaccine distribution locations have been announced so far: the Alamodome, the WellMed Elvira Cisneros Senior Community Center on the south side and the Alicia Treviño López Senior Community Center on the west side.

All of these vaccination sites will be officially launched on Monday, January 9 and many places are already filled.

But that doesn’t mean all hope is lost if you can’t hook on a vaccine just yet. City officials will keep the sites open for the coming weeks, and more residents will be able to register as more vaccines arrive in Bexar County.

Here’s what you need to know to get your name on the list:

  • In operation from Monday 11 January. The site is open Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
  • To register for the vaccine, go to covid19.sanantonio.gov/vaccine, or call 311 and select option 8. No entry accepted.
  • A total of 1,500 people a day can receive the vaccine at the Alamodome site.
  • Anyone who lives in Bexar County or any of the other 26 municipal districts can come to Alamodome to get their COVID-19 vaccine, city leaders said.
  • If the appointments are full, you can still stay up to date with the vaccine appointment openings at covid19.sanantonio.gov/vaccine.

  • Call (833) 968-1745 to sign up for the vaccine. The toll-free phone line is answered seven days a week between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm.
  • Even if you can’t get through, city officials recommend that you keep calling.
  • For those who do not have reliable transportation to the vaccination site, city officials recommend that you call your city council for further assistance.

Those eligible for the COVID-19 vaccines include health professionals and residents of long-term care facilities known as Stage 1A and Stage 1B, including residents over the age of 65 or residents 16 and older with a chronic medical condition. condition. state.
