On Facebook and TikTok, the images showing the expertise some pupuseras have in preparing El Salvador’s quintessential dish have caused astonishment.
Pupusas are the quintessential dish of El Salvador. You’ll find at least one pupusería in every corner of the country, offering a variety of options, from the most common and popular (scrambled eggs, cheese, pork rinds or beans with cheese) to the less traditional ones, including shrimp, chicken, jalapeno pepper and garlic .

San Salvador’s historic center is not exempt from these types of sales. Near the most popular parks in the capital you will occasionally find a restaurant that prepares and offers this type of food. Those who visit these establishments enjoy not only the delicious products, but also the presence of the expert chefs, who very quickly make the pupusas.

A video that circulates on the internet and has become viral In social networks, it records the expertise of a few ladies in the preparation of the famous dish.
In the clip, you can see the smiling pupusera taking some dough, filling it with cheese and beans, and then putting it on the hot plate. But “what’s surprising about all of this?” Some will ask.

What attracts a lot of attention in the audiovisual sector is the peculiar way in which the ladies throw the pupusas on the plate.

He video shows how the women “fly” high (literally) the pupusas on the metal bowl. Also surprising is the precision with which they let each dough fall side by side with the delicious filling.

The images were taken a few years ago in a pupusería on 1st Calle Poniente, a block and a half west of Plaza Morazán. It should be noted that the place where the curious images were shot is now occupied by another pupusería, who unfortunately does not offer this kind of “show” to its customers.
