Joe Park, favorite of the “Bachelorette” fan, revealed on Wednesday that he had received the COVID-19 vaccine and documented the process on social media
Park, 36, a New York-based anesthetist who appeared on the most recent season of “The Bachelorette,” posted step-by-step clips to his Instagram story.
“Okay, here we go,” Park captioned the first post, “Step 1: Sign Up (When You May).”
In the second post, Park sees Park sign a consent form before a doctor injects him with the Step Three vaccine.
“Step 4: Follow yourself for 15-20 minutes,” Park signed the story. “Tylenol for injection site pain. Treats for being so awful !! “
The latest message showed Park’s medical card with the sticker, “I have my COVID-19 vaccine.”
In October, Park made his “Bachelorette” debut, vying for Clare Crawley’s affection. Crawley, 39, then became engaged to former NFL player Dale Moss, resulting in Tayshia Adams.
Park was eliminated in week 6.
On Sunday, Park posted a video about the COVID-19 vaccine on his Instagram page, discussing numerous topics ranging from the safety of the vaccine to how mRNA [messenger RNA] vaccines work.
mRNA vaccines instruct cells how to construct a protein, according to the CDC, to activate an immune response in the body. According to the site, “that immune response, which produces antibodies, is what protects us from infection when the real virus enters our bodies.”
Park is a COVID-19 survivor himself and told Entertainment Weekly in November that he contracted the virus in the spring.
“I had COVID in late March, early April… My hospital was probably the second most affected hospital in New York City,” he told the outlet. “It was a red zone and it was everywhere. It was a bit of the early stages. Luckily we had PPE, but people weren’t that choosy with their PPE at the time. And there were hundreds and hundreds of patients we treated with COVID. “
