Zombie Apocalypse Survival Guidance provided by CDC

As if 2020 weren’t enough of a battle, there could be a zombie apocalypse in 2021 – but don’t worry, because one place in particular has you covered.

That crazy 15th-century prophet Nostradamus apparently has one of his hairless predictions for validation soon, with the relentlessly wretched ominous saying back in the day we’d be sure for a zombie apocalypse in 2021. Don’t worry, normal he wrong.

But what if he was right?

Well, in the US, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has provided advice on how to survive – which is good to know because even if we don’t have a zombie apocalypse this year, the rise of shows like The living Dead has caused people to become somewhat curious about how they would handle such a situation.

The CDC decided to create a Zombie Preparedness page that people can turn to for answers – in case the undead really start walking among us.

“It turns out that what first started as an ironic campaign to engage new audiences with readiness messages has proven to be a very effective platform,” the advisory said.

“We continue to reach and engage a wide range of audiences in preparing for all dangers through ‘zombie preparedness’.”

The page was actually created in 2011, but the resurgence of Nostradamus’ prophecy has recently seen people flocking to the site for reassurance.

The guidance isn’t just dealing with zombies, it also covers a range of natural disasters – you know, like a pandemic or something.

“Bottled water, flour, disinfectant spray, toilet paper … A year ago it didn’t matter how much money you had. You couldn’t get your hands on certain things,” John Sellick, a professor at Jacobs School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at the University of Buffalo, said to Yahoo Life while contemplating the Covid-19 outbreak.

“Having supplies at home could have helped some of us. Obviously, most of us didn’t have enough supplies. ‘

The CDC recommends putting together an emergency kit, including water – one gallon per person – non-perishable food, prescription and nonprescription medications, and tools and supplies.

It also suggests providing hygiene and sanitation facilities, clean clothes, bedding, and first aid, plus all important documentation such as passports or driver’s licenses.

Finally, the CDC recommends developing a contingency plan with your family so you know what to do when a disaster strikes.

This includes naming a location where you should all meet, as well as a list of emergency contacts and an evacuation route.

In the meantime, let’s just hope that Nostradamus is proven wrong again.
