The first teaser trailer for Zack Snyder’s Army of the dead has arrived. On Sunday, Snyder tweeted the poster for the upcoming movie, revealing the May 21 release date for the zombie robbery movie, but also revealed the first teaser would also come online. Set to debut on Netflix, Army of the dead is Snyder’s first post-DC project. The film is about a casino robbery during a zombie apocalypse and stars Guardians of the Universe star Dave Bautista as the leader of the group. The film also stars Ella Purnell, Ana de la Reguera, Garret Dillahunt, Raul Castillo, Omari Hardwick, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tig Notaro and Matthias Schweighofer.
“It’s a straight movie about zombies against the wall, so it’s genre-by-genre in a great way,” Snyder said. Weekly entertainment“So you expect pure zombie mayhem, and you get it 100 percent. But you also get these truly fantastic characters on a fantastic journey. It will surprise people that there is a lot of warmth and real emotion with these great characters.”
“We made a zombie movie with Dawn, but we tried to do it all with all those style figures of the genre,” added the director. “That was so much fun, so I started thinking about other genres that the story didn’t have room for. It’s this tone where you have fun with the genre, but you don’t make fun of the genre – it’s a thin line.”
Recently, Snyder said that filming Army of the dead has been one of his best films experiences ever because he can get behind the camera again.
“When I made TV commercials, I was the director-cameraman. For 12 years, and pretty much not every job, but most of the jobs I did myself. And I just really enjoy it,” Snyder said as he told the Me Minutemen YouTube channel. And really, part of the reason is that you know, the bigger the movies get, the farther you get from the camera. The more infrastructure there is between you and the kind of cinematic experience. You don’t touch the world like closely. ‘
He continued: “And so I felt like Army was a great opportunity to get really close to photography and the actors. Honestly everyone said ‘how can you shoot the movie and direct the movie’ and I’m like it’s incredibly easy because the actors are the way they are and the conversation is easy. The pace is easy because I can just work that way. It’s just a lot of fun. It was really one of the best, really most satisfying experiences that I’ve had. “I’ve made a movie, as far as that aspect of it goes.”
