Zack Snyder may have his own part Justice League on the way, but it’s not the only movie he’s coming out this year. He’s also behind the new Netflix movie, Army of the dead, which got its first zombie-filled trailer on Thursday morning.
Army of the dead seems to start somewhere around the beginning of a new zombie apocalypse. But as the trailer shows us, this isn’t your typical story of survivors working together to defeat the zombies and stay alive. Instead, the film follows a squad of mercenaries led by Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Universe Stuber) who are planning a massive heist in Las Vegas, with the zombies as the perfect cover. Of course, the trailer lets us know that this isn’t exactly the perfect crime, and things are definitely going to derail when the walking dead get involved.
This is the first time Snyder has returned to the zombie apocalypse genre since his 2004 remake of Dawn of the DeadIt’s also Snyder’s first time making a streaming exclusive movie – at least depending on how you categorize Zack Snyder’s Justice League
Army of the dead hits Netflix on May 21.
