In the video posted on the social network TikTok, Yuri appears dressed as Santa María with a man dressed as San José. After a seemingly harmless dance, the Mexican singer moves with steps similar to reggaetón and then simulates a pregnancy discomfort.

“Every religion deserves respect,” wrote one user of the social network, while another wondered about Yuri: “Christian or hypocritical?”
Another TikTok user said, “I was one of those people who admired and respected her as a person and an artist, but she lost everything to me with this.”

Interviewed by ACI Prensa, Father Hugo Valdemar, penitentiary canon of the Archdiocese of Mexico, said the outrage among Catholic believers is understandable because “the mother figure is endearing to any human being. “Well, the same thing happens to Catholics, an insult to the Blessed Virgin in addition to a serious blasphemy sin is an insult to our Christian feeling at its deepest,” he stressed.
The Mexican priest, who was the communications director of the Archdiocese of Mexico for 15 years under the pastoral government of Cardinal Norberto Rivera, explained that “from the beginning of Christianity, the Catholic Church has nurtured great love and veneration for the blessed. Virgin Mary “.

Father Valdemar pointed out that “transgressions or blasphemies against the Blessed Virgin Mary always come from Satan, who feels a terrible hatred for her”, so Yuri “acted as an instrument of Satan, using his sectarian hatred to insult the mother of God and to offend us Catholics ”.
“It is impossible to understand how anyone who calls himself a Christian can blaspheme and insult the Mother of Christ. A mockery of her is a mockery of Jesus, and it is reprehensible and unbearable, ”he said.
For Father Valdemar, the dance broadcast by Yuri on TikTok is “a blasphemous and satanic act”.
