Young people under 18 can only receive the COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer

Starting Monday, anyone over the age of 16 can receive the coronavirus vaccine, COVID-19.

Governor Pedro Pierluisi announced this in his status report from the Lower House.

Those under 18, 16, and 17 can only get the vaccine from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer, as it is the only one approved for these ages.

In the case of individuals over 18, the Department of Health reported that they could receive any vaccine: Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson.

In late March, Pfizer announced it would seek approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to vaccinate people between the ages of 12 and 15.
