You can now register with Ford Field to get vaccinated against COVID

DETROIT – Health officials announced Friday that Ford Field will be one of 20 mass vaccination centers in the country.

On Monday, the first appointments for the mass vaccination site were expected to open. But a last-minute change put the process off until 5:45 PM

Michigan residents can now enroll at the COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Ford Field in Detroit. The vaccination site will be officially opened on March 24.

After registration, residents receive an invitation via voice or text message when it is their turn to schedule an appointment. The Ford Field site is open seven days a week from 8:00 am to 8:30 pm.

Residents who do not have Internet access or need assistance can register through the MDHHS COVID-19 Hotline. Call Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday or Sunday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. The call center is expected to have long waiting times.

The vaccine is offered free of charge and no insurance is required. Free parking is available at the vaccination site.
