You can buy now, but you can’t afford LG’s $ 89,000 rollable OLED

LG’s magic rolling OLED is now available for purchase in the U.S. But reader, I am very sorry to warn you in advance that you really, really can’t afford this TV.

As noted by HD guruLG seems to have quietly noted its list OLED R television with an “inquire to buy” button on the product page. The screen official went on sale last year in South Korea for 100 million won, which equates to about $ 89,000 USD. Yes, that’s almost $ 100,000 for a single TV. No, I can’t help you get a sense of the amount of money it would take anyone to think that this purchase was even remotely justifiable.

Reached for comment on current pricing – as if any form of discount really matters here – a LG spokesperson would only say the company has not officially announced the pricing and availability of the Signature R OLED, but added that there was information should become available later in the second quarter.

If LG’s Signature R sold OLED in South Korea for about its price, that would be more than four times the cost of another LG dream TV you can’t afford: LG’s Signature OLED 8K ZXThat screen produces a photo so real (and so large) that while viewing it, I felt like I could reach out and touch the photo in front of me.

But the OLED R, originally debuted a few years ago does something that even the huge and beautiful 8K OLED can’t: it Sandwiches, treasure. In short, you go from a minimalist coffee table-like structure in your home to a large TV in minutes. It’s a near-perfect design, although – as properly reflected by the extremely rich-looking models in the promotional material – we plebs cannot and will not be able to afford it, no matter how deeply discounted the price.

Explore me in 2040, when premium rollable TVs are something we can even buy someday. Until then, dream on.
