The Cuban singer Yotuel Romero He remembered how difficult it was to live in Cuba during his childhood and adolescence, a situation that remains the same decades later for those still on the communist island.
During an interview presented to the Spanish magazine Semana, the artist related some of his experiences when he lived in the largest of the Antilles and he and his family suffered from the lack of food.
In this sense, Yotuel Romero assured that life in Cuba is “very difficult” due to the communist system the Castros have been applying since the triumph of the “revolution”, while pointing out that “Cubans cannot be rich in their country”, since the only ones who have the right to progress on the island are the communists belonging to the regime.

“Life is very difficult there. The Cuban cannot be rich in his country, he cannot be powerful because the government does not allow it. The only rich people out there have to be them and it’s something that limits you enormously when it comes to getting resources, and what little you can get you have to convert in a thousand ways ”.
Yotuel Romero also recalled that sometimes they only had “meat bone” to eat in his house, so the situation was really precarious.
“I remember we only had one meat leg and we made the best of it. We cooked the leg, we made soup from that water, we chopped the meat, we added tomatoes and we made old clothes and from the egg we made rice and used it to give it a little flavor ”.
He assured at the time that he remembered that his childhood was even more difficult because his father had abandoned his family when he was a child.
In this interview, conducted by the aforementioned Spanish magazine, Yotuel also talked about the launch of his new solo song “Rebelde”, which has already exceeded a million visits on various digital platforms.
