Xbox Live has a major outage, according to the official Microsoft Xbox status page and the fact that we are now unable to log into our Xbox Series X. The online gaming service has been offline for more than three hours since 7pm. EST.
“We are aware that users may not be able to sign in to Xbox Live at this time,” said Xbox support through his official Twitter account. “Our teams are currently investigating how to resolve this issue.”
If you can’t sign in to Xbox Live right now, you’re not alone. Just when so many people (I know) got the new Xbox Series X this week😬 pic.twitter.com/XQax2Of62jFebruary 25, 2021
Today’s Xbox Live outage started about three hours ago, according to the timestamp on the tweet and roaring complaints from suddenly offline gamers. Many have recently purchased the new Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles that are expected to go online.
Microsoft’s status page indicates that Xbox Live is unavailable and affects some core functionality. Throughout the online gaming community, you cannot access your account and profile, the Xbox store and / or subscription service, and key, multiplayer gaming, and cloud gaming. This includes Xbox Game Pass, which has been heavily pushed by Microsoft in this new console generation.
In other words, you can’t do much of anything with the Xbox Series X, Series S, or Xbox One when it comes to Xbox Live functionality. For example, “Friends and Social Activities” remain intact, so you can join a viewing party or trim your Xbox Live friends list. Exciting for a Thursday evening.
