Xbox Live’s online platform for console gamers had a major outage Thursday afternoon, with gamers all over the world go to Twitter to report problems logging in.
But later in the day the problems seemed to be resolved. Around 6:30 p.m. PT, the The Xbox support team tweeted that users must be able to log in again, make purchases, and participate in chat sessions. On Friday morning, the Xbox status page stated that all online features were active.

The outage appears to have started shortly after noon PT on Thursday. “We are aware that users may not be able to sign in to Xbox Live at this time,” said the company’s support account tweeted Thursday afternoon“Our teams are currently investigating to solve this problem.”
Users can also have trouble purchasing content and party chat Xbox Support also tweeted later Thursday.
It’s not the first Xbox glitch in recent memory – the platform hit a tough patch in 2020 with multiple failures while gamers flocked to the platform for entertainment amidst the pandemic
